First round and first move |
 It’s an open secret that if you have anything important to speak to FIDE President you can meet Kirsan Ilyumzhinov in the museums where the works of the famous painter Ivan Shishkin are shown.
The first move of FIDE Women Grand Prix in Dilijan was honored to FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. After that noticeable moment the President and many officials walked through the building where our great event was being held.
At the same time the participants had already been in strong competition in the museum of town Dilijan. And it seems an interesting tradition to organize the highest tournaments in the museums (Anand-Gelfand Match in Moscow, Grand Prix in Tashkent, Alyokhin Memorial and others).
As the old game of chess is both an art and a science we just need to give an opportunity to all players to create in a cultural atmosphere. |

 First round of the 2nd tournament of Women Grand Prix started in Dilijan.
A.Ushenina - A.Muzichuk was the first game to finish. White tried to improve the line with 16.Rc1, but black sacrificed a pawn, got an active counterplay and forced her opponent to repeat the moves. Draw on move 31.
O. Girya - V. Cmilyte. Modern Benoni defense was played. This opening leads to very complicated positions. Cmilyte was never in real danger in this game.She even tried to get advantage but white's position had a lot of potential and Girya was able to hold.

The festive opening ceremony of the second tournament of the Women's Grand Prix has just been over in the resort city of Dilijan, Armenia. The event was honored by the presence of Prime Minister of Armenia Mr. Tigran Sargsyan, FIDE President Mr. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and many others.
